These Five Robot Lawn Mowers Will Automate Your Lawn Care This Summer

Summer is fast approaching and with summer comes lawn care. We all love a well-manicured lawn; however, we hate the arduous effort it takes to keep it that way.

If you are like most people, busy and occupied with life and have little time to care for your lawn, these five robot lawn mowers will automate your lawn mowing saving your precious time for other more interesting things you can do this summer.

Each of these robotic lawnmowers will perform the task of cutting your grass autonomously. They can be programmed to cut in patterns, mulch grass and avoid obstacles while staying within a defined boundary.

They are so sophisticated that you don’t even have to plug them in to recharge. They can automatically return to charging stations once their batteries are low. With that said, these five robot lawn mowers will save you time and keep your lawns well-manicured.

Robomow RK4000

Robomow RK4000

With the ability to handle up to an acre, Robomow RK4000 is the perfect choice for large properties. It features a 16.5” wide cutting rack that covers a large swath of lawn with each pass. Additional features include cutting heights ranging from 0.75 to 4 inches, two hours of run time on a full charge and anti-theft measures. Finally, it can be programmed to work via a companion app or a cellular connection so you can keep track of its work while away from home.

MowRo RM24

MowRo RM24

The MowRo is one of the most affordable on this list but packs a variety of features. It features a 9.5” wide cutting rack and uses a three-blade design to cut and mulch grass across lawns with inclines up to 20 degrees. Onboard sensors allow it to avoid obstacles such as lawn decorations, planters or animals. Unlike the Robomow, it does not have a companion app. However, it has a control panel where you can set it to work in intervals of 48-hours. While the lack of a companion app is a bummer, don’t let that dissuade you from the MowRo, it’s still a very good lawn mower at an affordable price that gets the job done.

Husqvarna Automower 415X

Husqvarna Automower 415X

If you are not tech savvy, this lawn mower may not be for you. This is by far the most sophisticated on this list. With the companion app, you can set it to follow defined boundaries, define specific zones and have it behave differently in each zone. That means you can vary cutting heights in different zones, that can only be accomplished by a mower that is truly sophisticated and tech heavy. A floating deck automatically raises and lowers the blade depending on the terrain its traversing. It can cover up to 700 sq-ft of lawn per hour and is ideal for large properties with complex landscaping. Other features include spiral cutting, the ability to monitor real-time status, create schedules, and track its location via GPS. It can even operate at nights using its LED headlights and can monitor outdoor temperatures with its built-in frost guard technology to avoid cutting grass in wet and icy conditions.

Worx Landroid S 20V

Worx Landroid S 20V

This company is known for creating very good machines from drills to lawnmowers and this machine is no exception. It can cut heights between 1.5 to 3.5 inches and features floating blade technology that raises and lowers the blade automatically to avoid uneven terrain. It’s narrow size allows it to cut between tight spaces which is ideal for flower gardens and large areas with multiple planters. Built-in sensors allow it to detect rain and avoid cutting until grass is dry. Unlike other mowers on this list that uses an app to define boundary. With the Landroid, you must manually define boundaries with wires that are detected by sensors on the mower. The Landroid app can be used to set mowing schedule, adjust settings and check mowing status at any time.

Gardena 15001-41 Sileno City

Gardena Sileno City

Like the Worx Landroid, the Gardena Sileno is designed for smaller to medium sized lawns and is one of the most affordable on the list. Its quiet motor produces only 57db of noise and it can cut over slopes as high as 19 degrees. It can easily slice through narrow areas, thanks to its small size which makes it ideal for operating between flowers and planters. Despite the affordable price, it includes a companion app that connects via Bluetooth. The app allows the user to adjust settings and turn on and off automatic operation. Spot mode capability allows a patch of grass to be cut efficiently. Unlike more expensive mowers, there is no rain detection sensor, so its up to the owner to remove it from the lawn when it begins to rain.
