The Tetra Superyacht is a Pyramid Shaped Yacht Concept that Employs Hydrofoil Technology
Unveiled by designer Jonathan Schwinge, this pyramid-shaped Tetra Superyacht concept is the first of its kind to employ a tetrahedron pyramid superstructure that would ride above the waves.
Inspired by hydrofoil technology, Schwinge designed the Tetra Superyacht to ride above the waves as it increases in speed similiter to existing hydrofoil vessels.
The design employs a radical departure from traditional yacht designs not only in terms of superstructure but propulsion as well.
The tetrahedron styled vessel would ride the waves using three hulls on its underside at low speeds. When speed is increased, a torpedo shaped strut would extend down into the water which would assist the yacht in rising above the surface of the water using its rotating side-mounted adjustable foils.
If constructed, its superstructure would be built with carbon fiber and stainless-steel. The pyramid shaped superstructure would be large enough to accommodate up to six passengers and four crew members.
