The New Skoda Vision 7S is a Realistic Vision of the Future of Automotive Technology
Skoda, the Czech automobile manufacturer recently unveiled the new Vision 7S concept, a 7-seater electric SUV with a sleek exterior and an ultra-futuristic cabin. The new Vision 7S styling and technology is practically a vision of where the automotive industry is heading.
The new Vision 7S will top the list of Skoda’s EV lineup and will compete directly with EV models such as Kia’s EV6 and its upcoming EV9, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The new SUV will bear the hallmarks of a redesigned brand with an all-new design language and a new Skoda logo emblazoned across the vehicle’s bonnet.
The design of the Skoda Vision 7S is bold and decisive with distinctive T-shaped LED headlights adorning a rugged two-toned bumper with a Jeep-like grill at front and rear. The aerodynamic design is smooth as butter cutting corner over squared-off wheel wells housing massive 22-inch alloy wheels. Door handles are flush and blend seamlessly into the body.
Under the hood, Skoda has released only bits of information, but what we do know so far is that Vision 7S will be fitted with an 89 kWh battery pack which will enable it to achieve a 373 mile driving range.
The interior of the Vision 7S is in a class by itself. The ultra-futuristic interior seats 7 passengers and can be arranged in two different configurations. There is a “driving mode” and a “relax mode”. In relax mode, the steering wheel retracts, the seats rotate and recline, and the 14.6-inch infotainment screen automatically adjusts for playing music or watching videos.
For now, the Skoda Vision 7S remains a concept with the company planning to begin production of the SUV sometime around 2026. Pricing is too early to tell but estimates from current Skoda models put the starting price at approximately $75,647 USD.
