The Flying Winnebago Helicopter Mobile Home Was Way Ahead of it Time

This unusual RV Helicopter Home graced the front page of Popular Mechanics in 1977. It was the fulfilment of Winnebago, one of the leaders in the RV world to create a flying RV. Known as the flying Winnebago, this amazing RV home is made from an old Sikorsky helicopter. Interior feature included a stereo system, color TV, on-board communications system, a 3.5kw generator, water and holding tanks and a 6,000 BTU air conditioner. It was priced at $185,000 to $300,000 per unit which may have been the most expensive RV in the world at that time.
