The Bertone GB110 is a Hyper Car That Runs on Garbage
How about a car that solves one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues? That is what the Bertone GB110 aims to become. This high-performance hyper car developed by Italian automotive company Bertone runs on nothing more than garbage.
Yes, you read that correctly, the GB110 will be powered by fuel made from recycled plastic waste. Bertone has partnered with Select Fuel, a company that has developed a patented technology that converts polycarbonate waste material into renewable fuel.
With its cutting-edge Advanced Plastics to Fuel technology, Select Fuels aims to solve the worlds plastic problem by converting a common environmental nuisance, plastic waste to good use. Select Fuels are currently being used in many applications from renewable aviation fuel to motorsport.
The Bertone GB110 hyper car boasts an impressive 1100 hp and is able to achieve 0-60 mph in 2.79 seconds with maximum speed of over 236 mph.
Unfortunately for those looking to get their hands on one of these, only a limited edition run of 33 vehicles will be produced to celebrate Bertone’s 110th anniversary.
Pricing for the GB110 has not been released but judging from comments made by Bertone comparing the price to a piece of artwork we can safely assume it won’t be for those with shallow pockets.
