The 2023 Kia Stinger Will Be the Final Year of Production for The Brand’s Iconic Sports Sedan
Kia, the South Korean automaker is known for producing the Rio subcompact and the Soul crossover. However, just like Hyundai and its Genesis performance line, Kia has a relatively good sports sedan that doesn’t get the acclaim as the big boys in the game.
It’s called the Stinger and it’s a four-door hatchback with rear-wheel drive standard and an all-wheel drive option. The Stinger exterior and interior design is impressive, it looks like a cross between a Mercedes and a BMW albeit not on the same performance levels.
The base engine on the Stinger is a 300 hp turbocharged four-cylinder with an available option for a 368-hp twin-turbo V6. The latter is the best option able to achieve 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds. The Stinger has impressive handling with an extremely comfortable and ergonomic interior layout.
Unfortunately, Kia plans to discontinue production of the Stinger after the 2023 model year. This may be due to limited demand or the introduction of its new EV6 GT electric sedan. Whatever the reason, for a starting price of $37,865 you can get your hands on a very stylish and powerful sedan before it’s gone forever.
