The project features an environmentally friendly circular guestrooms designed for “Not A Hotel”, a company that develops and sells vacation homes in various locales.
With the goal of creating a venue that provides its visitors a private slice of the island, Fujimoto and his team of architects have been hired to build “Not A Hotel Ishigaki”, a location in the Okinawa prefecture. The villa will have four separate bedrooms as part of the space, while the interior décor will be neutral with colors to match the natural landscape that surrounds the villa. The exterior will be blended seamlessly into the surrounding environment. At the terrace level outside, an infinity pools expands out to the ocean, while a private garden decks out the roof of the space.
The project is set to open in 2023 and will be the latest in a line of properties developed by the company with the goal of digitizing the holiday home ownership experience. Buyers will have the option of purchasing an entire building and renting it out as a hotel or they can own a portion of the villa and purchase share in days.
The first location “Not A Hotel Aoshima” is set to open in November 2022, followed by “Not A Hotel Ishigaki” which will open in the summer of 2023 with the aim of expanding to new locations throughout Japan and abroad.
