Once Owned by Rod Stewart This 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition is Up for Auction
If you grew up in the 80’s you would have come to appreciate the songs of Rod Stewart but many may not be aware of the singer’s collection of classic cars. His much vaunted 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th anniversary edition is now up for auction. Stewart owned the legendary Countach from 1989 to 1994 before selling it to its second owner who held onto it until selling it to its current owner in 2022.
The Countach 25th anniversary edition was the handiwork of Horacio Pagani who redesigned Marcello Gandani original design making it more muscular and rugged in appearance. The Chassis and engine were also upgraded making it the fastest production model of the car of which only 658 units were built between 1988 and 1990.
The Countach that is up for auction features the upgraded engine a 5.2 liter DOHC V12 with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection which is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. At its heyday, this massive engine put out a whopping 455 horses and 370 pounds of torque. With that power the car could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 185 mph.
With 7,300 miles on the odometer, Stewart’s Countach has plenty of life left in it even though its a 34 year old car. It has all its original hardware with some mechanical parts such as brake cylinder, brake calipers and battery replaced over the years.
