Mark Wahlberg’s Beverly Hills Estate Goes On Sale For $87.5 million

The Beverly Hills property owned by Mark Wahlberg, the Dorchester native went on the market Wednesday for a stunning $87.5 million, and if it sells for even half that, it would be the most expensive transaction in the upscale neighborhood’s history, smashing the $70 million barrier established late last month.

According to the celebrity real estate news site Dirt, Wahlberg has lived in the custom-built home with his wife, Rhea Durham, and their family since it was completed in 2014. With a five-hole golf course, grotto-style pool, guest house, skate park, and tennis/basketball court set between the hills on a meticulously-manicured 6.14-acre property, the property is more of luxury resort than an estate.

The house is massive, with 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms spread across 30,500 square feet. A beautiful fountain rests on a grassy island surrounded by the stone road beyond the guarded entry. The columned entry leads to a beautiful two-story foyer with an ornate railing and a double staircase.

The multi-level wood-paneled library and the sunlit living area with limestone floors and a dizzying number of French doors are equally striking. With numerous chandeliers, a huge living area, a marble fireplace, a private balcony, and two bathrooms and closets.

An amazing wet bar, a movie theater with multiple cushioned seats, and a brick-walled wine cellar with a tasting area round out the home’s numerous facilities. There’s also a fully-equipped gym that puts to shame even established gyms.
