LG Debuts The World’s Largest OLED TV: The 97-Inch OLED evo Gallery Edition 97G2
LG recently unveiled the world’s largest OLED TV, a 97-inch monster TV that will immerse the viewer in an entertaining experience like none other. The LG 97-inch OLED evo Gallery Edition 97G2 is a revolution in OLED technology owing to the fact that producing OLED TV’s at this size is not an easy feat.
If you are familiar with OLED technology, it is the top of the line Television technology at present with no backlit, organic, self-lit pixels that are able to be turned off completely. OLED technology offers remarkable clarity with deep blacks and highly vivid colors and high-levels of contrast. That said, OLEDs are not without their drawbacks, achieving optimal brightness levels is a problem with OLEDs especially when viewed in areas that are well illuminated.
Televisions are evolving and LG is seeking to keep ahead of competitors by introducing this 97-inch OLED monster TV. More shoppers are opting for larger panels as opposed to the standard 55-inch and 65-inch that has been the lions share of Television sales for the past decade. A study recently done by Omdia foresees global shipment of panels 70-inch and larger will reach 14.9 million units in 2022 and increase to 17.1 million units in 2023.
LG hasn’t announced pricing for the 97G2 but we can safely assume it will be beyond the $10,000 price range per unit. If you can afford a TV with an exorbitant price tag for its sheer size and OLED technology then the 97G2 would make a great investment.
