Hyundai’s Retro-Styled N Vision 74 Concept Begins Production Later This Month
What were the engineers at Hyundai thinking when they designed this retro throwback to the 1980’s. We reckon that maybe the guy that sketched this retro-styled N Vision 74 concept was having a moment of nostalgia for the great car designs of that era.
Nonetheless, this retro-concept might become a reality with Hyundai reportedly planning to put it into production this year. We just can’t wait to see the final production model of this intriguing concept and thankfully we won’t have to, the automaker is expected to unveil the first production model later this month.
The N Vision 74 concept is based on the Pony Coupe prototype that was a hit in the 1970’s. Ironically the new concept is expected to be officially launched at an event called; you guessed it, “Pony Day” which is scheduled for May 27th in Seoul, South Korea.
The design of the N Vision 74 is striking to say the least, with sharp lines and a distinct retro appearance that recalls the car from the cult classic Back to The Future. No wonder it has auto enthusiasts frothing at the mouth for a closer examination of what’s beneath its retro-styled exterior.
What we know so far is that it will be powered by a hybrid hydrogen-electric power train with two motors producing a combined 671 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. That is more than enough horses to propel the car to a top speed of 155 mph with a driving range of approximately 374 miles on a single charge.
The idea of a 1970’s – 1980’s era styled concept inspired by Giorgetto Giugiaro Pony Concept becoming a reality in 2023 is hard to imagine. However, Hyundai is dead serious about bringing this concept to reality and only time will tell if the reception it receives from the public is positive.
