Cerebras New Trillion Transistor Chip will Turbo-Charge ‘Brain-Scale’ AI

Cerebras, a new chip startup company, said in 2019 that it had developed a 1.2 trillion transistor chip the size of a dinner plate. Back then, the Wafer Scale Engine chip was the world’s biggest computer chip. In 2021, the Wafer Scale Engine 2, a 2.6 trillion transistor chip was unveiled with processing power so enormous that it will completely turbo-charge ‘brain-scale’ artificial intelligence projects.
