Aston Martin’s 1,139 HP Valkyrie Spider Formula One Inspired Supercar
Aston Martin’s 1,139 horsepower Valkyrie Spider Hypercar has been in the works for a while, with the brand promising Formula One performance in a street-legal road car. Finally, during the Monterey Auto Week, the Valkyrie limited-edition was revealed, and it caused such a stir among car lovers and billionaire playboys that the company received deposits.
The Valkyrie is a hybrid convertible with 1,139 horsepower and a futuristic exterior. Its carbon-fiber frame encloses the driver’s cockpit in negative space, with the bathtub surrounding by Venturi tunnels that suck high-speed air to the vehicle’s rear to minimize drag and control downward force. It’s one of the Spider’s numerous aerodynamic elements that aid in reducing drag and increasing speed.
The vehicle’s exterior has dihedral windows that tilt forward rather than rising straight up, and the top is made up of a carbon-fiber sheet that links to two fixed polycarbonate windows. Aston Martin has a large naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine under the hood that can rev up to 11,000 rpm and attain peak speeds of 217 mph in coupe configuration and 205 mph in convertible form. Aston Martin aims to produce only 85 Spiders at a cost of 3.5 million dollars each, with deliveries beginning in the second quarter of 2022.
