The Innovative Sampson Sky Switchblade Flying Car Could Take to The Skies in Weeks
With FAA approval, the Sampson Sky’s Switchblade could take to the skies within weeks and become a commuter’s dream come true by avoiding miles of gridlock in urban areas. Over 14 years of development has produced this innovative flying car that promises to change the way we commute to urban areas.
Designed with all the amenities of a luxury car, the Sampson Sky Switchblade is not only a flying car but an electric flying car with a hybrid electric-drive system. When the vehicle is on the ground, its wings fold into the sides of the car and deploy when its time for takeoff and allow a seamless transition between road and air operation.
It can hold two people and reach a maximum altitude of 16,000 feet and achieve a cruising speed of 160 mph. At a cost of $170,000 per unit, the Switchblade is one of several flying cars preparing to take flight this year, such as Aeromobil AM4, the Pal-V Liberty from the Netherlands and the Klein Vision Air Car currently certified in Slovakia and aiming for certification across the EU.
The good news is, the Switchblade can be reserved with a $2,000 deposit that is due 45-days after the first car takes flight.
