DeLorean New Alpha 5 Electric Car is a Throwback to The Iconic 80s Sportscar from Back to the Future
We all remember the famous sportscar from the 80s blockbuster “Back to the Future”, after all who can forget such an iconic car from that great movie. However, it seems we are not the only one, DeLorean new Alpha 5 electric car is a take on the iconic 80s sports car from the “Back to the Future” movies.

The company gave us a glimpse of the new Alpha 5 in a series of images released this week. However, before you go making a down payment, the Alpha 5 is still under development but from the images released it looks like a fascinating sportscar with a design that definitely bears a striking resemblance to the sports car in the “Back to the Future movies.

One remarkable feature of the Alpha 5, is that it will have two gull-wing doors that open upwards; where else have we seen this? You guessed it, from the 1982 sportscar that took the characters from Back to the Future on time travel adventures.

The market version of the Alpha 5 will also have lots of electric power muscle and be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds. The base model will come with a 100 kWh battery which will give it a top range of 300 miles.

DeLorean is expected to debut the Alpha 5 at the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this August with deliveries expected to begin sometime in 2024.
