The ‘Urban Sun’ Kills Viruses in Open-Air-Spaces
The “Urban Sun” artificial sun is the brainchild of Dutch Artist Daan Roosegaarde that promises to rid open-air-spaces of pathogens such as the coronavirus. It’s basically a device that harnesses far-ultraviolet light to inactivate pathogens in open-air-spaces. With the coronavirus limiting human interactions and gatherings, the hope is that this device can be installed in public places where people can gather under its sanitizing light with the freedom to interact and even shake hands.
