The Flying-V Blended-Wing Aircraft Model Takes to the Skies
A scale model of the experimental Flying-V Blended-Wing aircraft took to the skies recently in Germany to test the capability of its blended-wing concept. Blended wing design for commercial airlines is a concept being tested by several companies where the passengers, fuel tanks and baggage are all built into an aerodynamic wing. It promises to be more aerodynamically efficient and up to 20% more fuel efficient than conventional aircraft.
