PSK Hunter Killer Drone is a Football Shaped Drone That Will Forever Change the Battlefield

The conflict in Ukraine has seen the devastating use of drones and their uncanny ability to transform the battlefield. Undoubtedly, future wars will employ even more advanced drones to fulfill various military missions. The American startup company XDOWN recently announced details of a state-of-the-art, throwable tactical drone that resembles an NFL football. The stealthy drone known as the P.S. Killer (PSK) is an unmanned aerial system (UAS) that can be hand-launched like a quarter back from any location and destroy targets with precise accuracy.

Weighing only 3.7 pounds, the PSK can be carried in an infantryman backpack and used anywhere on the battlefield to target equipment or personnel. According to the XDOWN, the system is cost-efficient than many other battlefield drones and easily maintained and upgraded. It can be utilized for a diverse range of tasks from targeting personnel and equipment to electronic warfare, surveillance and reconnaissance.

It can even be used for non-combat duties like transporting food and medical kits to remote locations and disaster areas by simply removing the warhead container and replacing it with food or medicine. However, the primary role for now for the PSK will be combat-oriented with an operational range of 15 miles to 40 miles depending on weight of payload it can effectively deliver strikes to a wide area of the battlefield. The company’s press release stated that the PSK is a crucial asset for military operations and will be ready to handle any mission with confidence and efficiency.
