The 791-hp 2023 Mercedes AMG S 63 E Performance Sedan is the Most Powerful S-Class to Date
The Mercedes Benz S-Class is the flagship of the brand and is known for its refinement, luxury, and comfort but the new AMG S 63 E is the most powerful S-Class made to date. The new S-Class adds one more parameter of performance to an already overdesigned automobile.
This full-size sedan adds a sporty exterior design that bears the AMG-specific radiator grille with vertical louvres and a large central star. The previous Mercedes emblem on top of the radiator has been replaced with the AMG emblem that comes in either silver, chrome or black.
The bumpers, spoiler, mirror caps, and lower body all have carbon fiber trim. Particularly noticeable on the flanks are the special 20 or 21 inch AMG forged wheels and the AMG-exclusive side sill panels. The front brakes have enormous 16×1.5 inch brake discs, while the rear brakes have 15×1.3 inch discs. The front brakes are held in place by six-piston fixed calipers.
All of the amenities of a regular S-Class are present inside, and the list of optional options may satisfy the requirements of even the pickiest drivers. While the MBUX infotainment system features several AMG and hybrid-specific displays and functionalities, look for a steering wheel and sport seats that are particular to AMG. Another distinctive feature is the carbon fiber dashboard.
The well-known twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine powers the 2023 Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance. For this application, it is coupled with a 13.1 kWh battery and a rear-mounted electric motor to create a plug-in hybrid system.
A mind-blowing 791 hp and 1,055 lb-ft of torque are produced together propelling this luxury sedan to a top speed of over 180 mph. As a result of this enormous power, this large sedan can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as low as 3.2 seconds, which is faster than many other high-end sports vehicles.
The 2023 Mercedes-AMG S 63 E anticipated release is in the second half of 2023. Pricing will be disclosed closer to its debut. However, we can safely assume that pricing will start at around $200,000.
