Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is a 1300 hp Single-Seater Virtual Concept Race Car
It was only a matter of time until Maranello hopped on the video game bandwagon and used sim culture to introduce the Prancing Horse to the joystick generation, as seen by the recently released Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo concept car.
From December 23, 2022, players will be able to drive in a custom-built virtual Ferrari in the well-known driving game GT7. The Prancing Horse has joined the list of automakers that have previously created virtual super and hypercars for the GT7 franchise.
Why? Because positioning your physical brand deeply into the digital realm may be the best strategy to influence a generation of gamers in the current digital era. Gran Turismo was first released in 1997 by gaming legend Kazunori Yamauchi, and it quickly became a favorite of motorheads all around the world.
This stylish single-seater has all the characteristics of a racing prototype. It is a gasoline-electric vehicle that combines three electric motors with a finely tuned V6 from the recently released Ferrari 499P.
Maranello promises that it’s not just made-up fantasy worlds. According to the firm, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo “redefines the company’s aesthetic language and represents a significant step for Ferrari in the virtual world, where it will inspire new generations of enthusiastic drivers and aficionados.”
Three-quarters of a century after the 125 S race vehicle rolled out of the factory in 1947, Ferrari’s 75th anniversary celebrations will come to a conclusion with the unveiling of the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo at the end of 2022. That is why it has the 75 race number on both sides.
